Still Alive…and working on rebooting.

Being thrust into the caregiver role for two aging parents hasn’t been an easy transition, but i’m trying to get back into my craft. since 2019, life became overwhelming with the pandemic hitting in 2020, then becoming a caregiver to my elderly parents in 2021 during the pandemic. Balancing work/life/caregiving and all the medical appointments was my first priority, and I simply didn’t have time for anything extra, including my jewelry crafting. My Father passed away on July 3, 2022, and after all the stressful funeral planning, my focus became caring for my Mother, and getting her to her medical appointments, and of course work/life balancing. In the past several months, I did take a few private commissions, and only the things I had time to spare for.

When things start to calm down, I would like reboot, and start fresh with WiredCatz Design. I will probably not change the website much, but if you have some feedback or suggestions, please feel free to email me. I hope to open my shop back up in the next few months, and sell my current inventory. It will take a bit of time to take new photos of existing items, since some of the older photos and not of great quality. I have a new lightbox which will allow me to take better photos of my items! I will not be taking commissions until June, perhaps July as I get my life back in order to be able to provide quality and creative designs for you! I will also be opening up orders soon for my pet memorial bracelets and my pride bracelets.

I apologize for the absence, but I have to get up off the ground slowly, and make sure to follow my FB page for updates. Running a side craft/hobby business isn’t easy when it’s not your primary job, and I appreciate ALL the patience and support that I have received in the past few years. When you run your own small craft/hobby business, you are the labor, web designer/developer, customer service, blogger, social media person and just about everything. It can get a little overwhelming, so, I really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. I am deeply grateful for all of you who have supported my small craft business.

I also want to mention that the artist that designed my cute cat logo image, JJ Lookabaugh passed away sadily in September of 2023. His passing was sudden and it left his friends and family stricken with grief. In honor of JJ, I will be working on a line of LGBTQ jewelry, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to NAMI, which was a very helpful organization in his life, and the lives of many others seeking mental health resources.

Thank you, and I look forward to the future of WIREDcatz Design! Stay tuned cats and kittens!
